Cheeky Chupalicious Chocolate orange ice cream pops

Sometimes you want a naughty treat without the calories/Syns but only ice cream will do.  I find these are a good substitute.  You can get lollypop moulds in loads of places nowadays.  Kids will love them as well.

Makes about 6 lollies

Slimmingworld Syns = Approximately 3 if you have as your Healthy Extra A or less if you leave out the chocolate spread and just stick to Cocoa Powder.


2 pots of ricotta cheese 500 g (6 Syns per 90g or your Healthy Extra A).   You could substitute it for fat free quark or Skyr yoghurt to reduce the Syn value further.

3 tablespoons of cocoa powder (Approx 1.5 Syns per lolly)

2 tablespoons of JimJams chocolate spread  (Approx 1.5 Syns).

1 teaspoon of Stevia or sweetener to suit your taste.  You could also use honey but obviously you need to add the calories/Syn values.

Grated zest of 1 orange

1 teaspoon of orange extract or you could use some of the juice from the whole orange.


Put all of the ingredients in a Bullet type blender/liquidiser and blitz until smooth…
Have a taste now and adjust any ingredients to suit your own palette.

At this point you can put it straight into lollipop moulds or just in a freezer container and freeze it straight away or if you are the Queen of gadgets like me you can churn it in an ice cream machine but not essential.  They can be eaten straight away at this point.

If you don’t have an ice cream machine I find for best results they need to be taken out of the freezer and allowed to start defrosting a bit, say 10 minutes as they freeze quite hard but obviously that depends on your freezer.

They could be made with mint extract and fresh mint instead of the orange twist or just vanilla.  The possibilities are endless really.
